Howe Island Family Reunion
This summer I had the sweetest opportunity to take the ferry over to Howe Island in Kingston for a family session that was all about connection, generations, and legacy. This wasn’t my typical family session because this family had gathered for a reunion and wanted to capture every combination possible. From big group shots to smaller family clusters, couples, cousins, and grandparents, we covered it all.
What I loved most about this day was that it didn’t need to be wildly unique or elaborate with the perfect sunset for the photos to be special, it was the heart behind it. There’s something so special about seeing multiple generations come together, knowing that it all started with two people who built a family and a life worth celebrating. Standing there with my camera, I couldn’t help but think about the stories, traditions, and memories that have been passed down, and how moments like this will be looked back on for decades to come.
The setting couldn’t have been better… the peaceful ferry ride over, the island breeze, and the relaxed, easy energy of a family simply enjoying being together. There was so much laughter between shots, kids running around, and quiet moments of connection that made the photos feel real.
Family sessions like this are such a reminder of why I love what I do. They’re not just about getting everyone to smile at the camera; they’re about capturing a living, breathing piece of family history. And I’m so grateful I got to be the one to document this chapter for them.
If you’re planning a family gathering in Kingston or Prince Edward County and want to capture the people and moments that matter most, I’d love to connect with you.
