Soft Sunset Engagement Photos In PEC | Pat & Cat
Pat and Cat (yes, their names rhyme) joined me at Lakeshore Lodge on one of the first warm evenings of June; the kind where Prince Edward County feels awake again after winter, and everything is finally green and blossoming.
I believed I was photographing their engagement session… until they told me they had actually gotten married the night before. I thought my heart might burst.
They aren’t from the County, but it’s a place they’ve always loved. They travelled here to celebrate their marriage quietly and soak in a little time by the lake (with wine), and I was so honoured that they chose to set aside an evening for photographs.
We started at the grassy park at Lakeshore Lodge, surrounded by fresh spring blooms and soft lilac tones, then wandered down to the flat rock beach along the Sandbanks shoreline. Lake Ontario stretched out in front of us while the sun set in warm peach tones; the kind of glow you only get here in early summer.
There’s something incredibly tender about documenting couples who are fully wrapped up in each other. With Pat and Cat, everything felt slow, romantic, and meaningful; no rushing, just letting the light and the evening unfold.
As the sun dipped lower, we headed over to the Sandbanks dunes. Bare feet in the sand, dune grass moving gently in the breeze, and soft lavender skies over the water; it was quiet and cinematic, the perfect ending to their session.
The dunes are one of the most surreal landscapes in Prince Edward County. Wide open views, minimal backgrounds, pastel tones, and room to breathe… it always feels peaceful and a little magical out there.
If you’re imagining photographs on the shoreline, at Lakeshore Lodge, or on the dunes at Sandbanks, you’re choosing one of the most beautiful places in Ontario. Whether you’re visiting PEC, celebrating something big, or just wanting photos that feel editorial and romantic, I’d love to help you choose the perfect locations.
Pat & Cat,Thank you again for spending an evening with me in Prince Edward County. I loved getting to photograph the two of you and hearing that you’d been married just the night before made the whole session feel so special. I hope these images always remind you of the calm, warmth, and wonder of those first hours of married life, and of how beautiful the world felt around you that day. With love,
Holly
