Dreamy Family Session In The Laneway | The Normans

Last Summer, I was so lucky to have The Norman family join me for one of my Laneway family mini sessions, photographed right here on our property in Stone Mills.

This laneway has become one of my favourite family photography locations in Stone Mills, not just because it’s incredibly beautiful, but because of what it represents to me.

This beautiful spot, just off our dirt road, is surrounded by long grass, open fields and big leafy trees that give the most gorgeous, soft shade in the summer sun. The private property is quiet and relaxed ... and sometimes with cows wandering in the background :)

What makes the location so special to me is that it's my home now. Being able to invite past wedding clients, this time with their little minis, and welcome them into my space is something that I've always dreamed of. There's something pretty meaningful about photographing families I've known for years, watching their lives grow and capturing a new chapter of theirs, right here in the present. This is truly what I dreamed of all those years ago when I started my photography business.

The Laneway is the kind of place where parents, kids and even your dogs can be themselves. Kids can explore, parents can relax and the entire experience feels natural. One of the biggest perks of shooting here is that families can bring their doggies and let them off leash! Yay! Lexi, their sweet pup, joined us for this session and photographing her felt especially full circle for me. I photographed Lexi over 10 years ago (wow) during their engagement session. Not long after this session, Lexi passed away. I'm so grateful we were able to capture her here, surrounded by her people.

That's the thing about family photos! Sometimes you don't realize how important they will be until later.
