Golden Hour Family Session at Home | A Mother’s Day Gift in Bloom

If you’ve been following my work for a while, you’ve probably seen Carly before—many times. From her prom photos to engagement, wedding, maternity and beyond, she’s been in front of my camera through nearly every major milestone. Carly is not only a fellow photographer but also a longtime friend, which makes documenting her life and the people she loves feel that much more meaningful.

This time was extra special.

For Mother’s Day, Carly gifted her mom, Ann, a family session—one filled with love, warmth, and their brand new baby girl, Rory. We photographed everything right at their home as the fields were coming back to life and the trees were bursting with blooms. The light was perfect, and little Rory stayed up just long enough for us to catch the magic of golden hour.

The session included Carly, her husband Jordan, her brother Kyle, and of course, Ann—who now gets to carry these memories with her forever, held in photos of her children and her granddaughter all in one frame.

Sessions like this are the heart of why I do what I do. There’s something so timeless about photographing families in their natural rhythm, right where life is unfolding. These images will be part of their legacy—looked back on, passed down, and cherished.

Thinking about gifting a session to your mom (or yourself)?
Family photos don’t need a reason—but if you’re looking for one, a milestone, a holiday, or even a simple Sunday evening can be the perfect excuse. Reach out if you'd love to create something meaningful, beautiful, and true to your family. I’d be honoured to be a part of it.
