Vibrant Sunset Family Photos + Keepsake Video at Sandbanks Dunes in PEC

There are clients… and then there are the ones who become like family. I’ve been photographing the Schuerens for years now, and every time I see them, I leave with a full heart and a sore face from smiling so much.

This year’s session took us to the Sandbanks Dunes in Prince Edward County — and wow, what a night it was. The sky looked like it had been set on fire, the breeze was soft, and the light was golden. It honestly couldn’t have been more perfect.

Ashley, Adam, Charlie, and Madilyn bring the kind of energy that reminds me why I love what I do. The girls ran up and down the dunes more times than I could count — never once slowing down — and somehow still had the energy to hand me the sweetest surprise: two homemade bracelets that said “photographer” and “Holly.” I mean… how do you even put that kind of thoughtfulness into words?

We even filmed a little video during the shoot, which made this session feel even more special and alive. I truly don’t know what I would do without this family. They’re a light in my life — and I’m already looking forward to next year.

Thinking about booking a family session?
Right now, I’m offering a complimentary highlight video alongside photo sessions for families who want to capture even more of the movement, sound, and magic of their time together. It’s a beautiful way to remember this season — and I’d love to create one for you while I practice and grow in this new offering. Get in touch here to book your spot!

Photographers: if you’re loving the tones from this sunset session, I edited these using my go-to preset collection. They’re designed for natural light and real-life moments — and you can shop them here.
