A Simply Elegant Glen Lawrence Golf Club Wedding

It’s not often that I leave Prince Edward County, but for Hannah and Brennen, I got venture out to Glen Lawrence Golf Club in Kingston, Ontario and I am so glad that I did. The rolling hills, giant willow trees and 120 smiling faces of Hannah and Brennens closest friends and family made the vibrancy of the sunset seem like the cherry on top to the most perfect day.

I met Brennen when I was just a kid - he was my big cousins best friend and we went to the same public school in Prince Edward County. I remember him as the tall, quiet guy with the big smile, who was seriously passionate about ballin’ on the court. In walks Hannah; the cutest, kindest and sweetest soul with the most beautiful eyes. Something I really admire about these two as a couple is their relationship with their friends. Han is just as close with Brennens friends as he is, and I think that’s really cool. I met Hannah at my cousins wedding as she was one of the bridesmaids. I still remember her so graciously asking me to take a portrait of her and Brennen and from that moment on I hoped and prayed that I would some day photograph their wedding. Their love inspired me. It was so fresh, lighthearted and fun. You could just tell their feelings for each other were pure. My wish came true! The most special thing that Hannah and Brennen share isn’t a last name, but a gorgeous, blue eyed, free spirited, baby boy; who happens to not love photos (typical boy). But, when those eyes locked with my lens I felt myself melt. Lady! Killer! Luckily, he is totally into the candids. Give this boy some backlighting and some bubbles and he is ready for his close up!

There are so many wonderful things I could say about Glen Lawrence, but my favourite is the owner, Cheryl. I am so grateful to have had her to give us a tour of her incredible property, showing us the most beautiful willow tree I’ve ever seen, and taking care of every detail throughout the day. We all felt so taken care of. The ceremony took place on a large deck filled with guests under the biggest tree and blue sky where Hannah fumbled the ring and almost lost it, but she made a quick comeback (and made everyone laugh). As the day quickly passed, the reception began, we laughed, we cried and I salivated over the absolutely stunning light. As the party went on so did the ever changing sky. It was magnificent. Every single moment of it. It was almost like it was performing for us. As a wedding photographer, obsessed with immortality and all things timeless and effortless, Hannah and Brennens day was an absolute dream for me to photograph. I could not be anymore thankful to have been a part of this incredible day with two of the most genuine people. There is so much more I would like to tell you about because I feel that anyone who wasn’t there totally missed out, but for now I will leave it to the photos to tell the story…
