Lace and Lush Fields For This Family Session in Colborne, Ontario

Cue ‘A Change Is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke’. What would you say if I told you I know what you’ve been thinking about lately? Well I do know… because I’ve been thinking about it too. Spring! Spring! SPRING! It seems like all I can think about is wide open Prince Edward County skies, bicycle rides, fresh air, blooming florals, trees blowing in the wind, glowing sunsets on the beach wrapped up in a blanket, the list goes on and on. Basically, I’ve been spending my time getting inspired, feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed, and dreaming about all the near future has to offer. It’s the simple things in life.

I want to get you guys inspired, too! So, I thought I’d share one of my favourite families who make you feel like sunshine no matter the weather! This beautiful little quartet travels all the way from Toronto, Ontario to get their annual family photos (usually semi-annual if we’re being honest), but this time was extra special. This was my first time meeting their baby boy, Charlie; the most laid-back baby ever (seriously! This is a guy you would want to hang out with on a dock in Muskoka with your favourite bevy in hand).

Charlies momma, Nikki is my girl crush. I love her especially for her creative soul. She’s always going the extra mile to make her photos exquisite with simple touches like matching her and Sloane in white lace, and Ty and Charlie in cool toned neutrals. This time she surprised me by casually placing an adorable white teepee in the middle of a field for Charlies solo photos. This is the stuff that inspires me! Although she would disagree, sessions with her family are always so laid back and really easy for me to shoot. If you look up ‘candid and natural’ in the dictionary, you will find them.

Thank you to the beautiful Nikki, Ty, Charlie and Sloane for having me photograph such a special time in your lives! I love you guys forever and always!
